Clank! Legacy 2: Acquisitions Incorporated – Darkest Magic extra sneaky sneak peek!

It’s hard to talk about the new stuff coming in a legacy board game without spoiling the whole thing. But it’s also important for fans to have some idea what to expect beyond just “trust us, it’s awesome!” (To be fair though, it is awesome. Trusting us is optional.) So a couple of weeks ago at GAMA we invited some friends to join us for an extra sneaky sneak preview of Clank! Legacy 2 with a custom scenario that we created for them to show off the new Co-Op play and Boss mechanics.

We artsed-and-crafted together a playable one-game prototype, featuring peel-off post-its in place of scratch offs, and a board we printed ourselves, and gathered four players in what we’re pretty sure was an actual storage closet.

When the rubble was cleared (the adventure took some surprising turns!), here’s what they had to say:

“Clank! Legacy 2 is a sequel of Empire Strikes Back proportions. It’s the same world you expect and love, but with surprises and twists that will keep you begging for one more game. Old systems have been improved on, such as scratch off cards, and new ones were created like the tagging system which is full of customization. I can’t wait to see what secrets await me!”

By the end of the session, the Boss was defeated and the day was…saved? Our triumphant and/or surviving adventurers received glowing recommendations from their corporate superiors, including commemorative certificates to recognize their achievements, their bravery, and in some instances simply their participation.
