Everything You Need to Know About the Cube of Holding

Thanks to everyone who helped make the first week of the Clank! — Cube of Holding and The Forgotten Vault Kickstarter a good one! We appreciate all of the love and support — there’s a whole lot of excitement in the air for Clank!… along with a few questions!

Throughout the campaign, we’ll be taking a closer look at each of its major offerings, starting today with the Cube of Holding!

The Cube of Holding, Unpacked

The Cube of Holding, in addition to offering 33 premium miniatures, is a deluxe storage solution for the entire board-based line of Clank! games, from the original Clank! A Deck-Building Adventure to the brand-new The Forgotten Vault expansion. The box has been designed not only to keep your whole collection together, but to help make setup and takedown as easy as possible — no matter which expansions you choose to play with!

The Cube of Holding is divided into five layers — let’s take a look at each one, from bottom to top!

Bottom Tray – The “Graveyard”

This tray is intended for unused components, but it also serves as a useful flex space for anything else you want to store in there!

The Cube of Holding comes with a variety of miniatures that act as upgrades to various existing components, such as character pawns, artifact tokens, monkey idols, and more. Where to put those old components? Why, the “Graveyard,” of course! This tray — sitting at the bottom of the cube — is a convenient place to store said pieces, without having to toss them out or keep them in a separate box. For players who go in on other component upgrades in the Kickstarter — such as acrylic tokens or metallic cubes and coins — there will be even more to store down here!

Cards and Tokens Storage

The next “layer” of the Cube of Holding is where you’ll be keeping your cards and the majority of your components, and it’s made up of multiple parts:

All of your Dungeon Deck Cards in One Box!

The dividers feature the only component with text in the Cube of Holding, which is otherwise completely language-independent. (We’re also exploring icon-only versions of these dividers.)

A magnetically-sealed card box allows you to store all of your Dungeon Deck cards from the entire collection, along with dividers that allow you to sort your collection in various ways that work best for you!

Like keeping all of the cards from every expansion separate? Are there promo cards you always keep in your Dungeon Deck no matter which expansion you’re playing with? Do you have a wild custom deck you’ve Frankensteined together using cards from multiple expansions? No matter how you play, you can organize your cards however you want!

Deck Boxes for Each Player

The Cube of Holding will allow you to keep each player’s components together in color-coded deck boxes! These handy little boxes will store starting decks, player cubes, and a colored ring that each player can attach to their chosen miniature so that it’s clear who’s who!

Token Trays Organized by Expansion

There are three layers of trays which stack on top of one another, each containing dedicated slots for the game’s many tokens, divided by expansion and labeled. These trays will accommodate either the original cardboard tokens or the set of acrylic tokens available with this campaign.

Board Storage

The next layer of the Cube of Holding keeps all of your boards in one place — up to six folded boards, along with the separated Health Track, Rage Track, and Market Boards.

Miniature Trays

The final two trays are largely dedicated to storing the 33 miniatures that come with the Cube of Holding, though they also have spaces for any other components, such as the Dragon Bag and character boards from the Adventuring Party expansion. There’s also some additional flex space here!

Each of the trays in the Cube of Holding have snap-on lids, and each miniature has its own dedicated slot with a custom mold.
