Rise of Ix Comes to Skirmishes in Dune: Imperium Digital!

With mighty sandworms ever on the move deep beneath the desert dunes and scheming factions vying for power, the sands of change are always in motion on the desert planet Arrakis. And now, big changes are coming to Skirmish Mode in Dune: Imperium Digital, with Rise of Ix being added to the rotation!

New Ways to Play Skirmishes!

In the newest upcoming update for Dune: Imperium Digital, players will be able to enjoy Rise of Ix mechanics in Skirmish games! And we mean all players — even if you only own the base game! Going onward, new Skirmishes will rotate between base-game and Rise of Ix rules, giving players a variety of new ways to climb the leaderboards!

New Modifiers

As part of the new update, nine new Rules Modifiers and 17 new Scoring Modifiers will also be introduced into the pool! Here are some of fresh new wrinkles you can expect to adapt your strategy around:

Rules Modifiers: 

• Infiltration: Whenever a player sends an Agent to a board space occupied by an enemy Agent, they draw a card.
• Intimidating Force: Whenever a player deploys a dreadnought, they force each opponent to retreat a troop.
• The Weirding Way: Players take two turns in a row this game.

Scoring Modifiers:

• Technological Diversity: +2 for each Tech you have with a different cost at the end of the game
• Cargo Run: +1 for each time you recalled your Freighter
• Dreadnought Captain: +2 for each Conflict in which you deployed one or more dreadnoughts

FAQ

What if I don’t own Rise of Ix?

No worries! All players will have access to Rise of Ix Skirmishes, regardless of whether or not they own the expansion. 

What if I don’t know how to play with the Rise of Ix mechanics?

For players who have never played with the Rise of Ix mechanics such as Dreadnoughts, the Shipping Track, and Tech Tiles, the tutorial is available for all players who have completed the base game tutorials!

Will the base game still get Skirmishes?

Yes! Rise of Ix Skirmishes aren’t replacing existing base game Skirmishes, they’re simply getting added into the rotation! That means Skirmishes will alternate between base game and Rise of Ix rules every three days.

Will there be new Leaderboards for Rise of Ix Skirmishes?

No, Skirmish games for both the base game and Rise of Ix will share the same leaderboards.
