Root Patch 1.32.3—The Marauder Expansion Patch

We have a feisty little patch for you all today, including bug fixes and new UX that allows Keepers players to pick their retinue! (Thanks to Nitrorev for the good suggestion, and keep an eye out for this approach being used for other token selections.)

Bug Fixes

Gameplay 

  • During setup, Keepers automatic relic placement will now place relics in forest as close as legally allowed to their starting Warriors.
  • Fixed an issue where Keepers could get into an invalid state during Advanced Setup.
  • Players should now be able to select another move after canceling Prowess as Hundreds.
  • The Lord of Hundreds should now play a celebration animation for a Victory on the End of Game screen.
  • When moving warriors with False Orders in a clearing with an odd number of Warriors (specifically with the Warlord), the value is now rounded up instead of down.
  • Keepers should now be able to Encamp in clearings with a face-down Corvid snare.

UI 

  • Relics tooltips will now display the info of all relics in their clearing or forest.
  • The Duchy brigadier prompt selection should now only have 1 button displayed with the white outline at a time.
  • Improved spacing and resolved overlap issues on Winter Map.
  • In the Keepers tutorial, instructions should no longer overlap the prompt to add cards to your retinue.
  • The Enable Controller support prompt now appears when players land on the home screen for the first time, rather than at launch while the cinematic plays
  • The X and Y buttons on the gamepad should now be localized properly for different platforms
  • Gamepad settings should now default to top-most / first selection in a menu.
  • Users should now be able to ban factions while playing with Adset and Faction Draft disabled.
  • Fixed an issue where Clockwork bots would get extra buildings and warriors when playing with Adset
  • Placed Waystations should now display a card draw symbol on the player detail page.
  • Improved the clarity of messaging when an ambush is prevented by another ambush.
  • When the player doesn’t remove any items with the Lavish mood there should now be an accurate action log entry.
  • The Looting Banner should now be enabled and disabled properly during the Battle.
  • The Tooltip indicating the Draw Rate should now display properly.
  • The Disable Faction draft option should no longer appear when Advanced Setup is turned off.
  • Players using gamepad are now able to tooltip decree icons for more info.

Art 

  • Animation should now be smoother during Vagabot mouse click.

Localization

  • Russian language should now display accurately on HUD.
  • Spanish prompt header for the first mood choice should no longer covered by art.
  • Chinese Characters should now display properly.
  • Font should now be easier to read for Chinese characters and Japanese characters.
  • Non-English languages should no longer have blank areas. 

Known Issues

The following issues are known to the dev team and will be addressed in future patches!

Localization

  • German, Czech, Russian, and Japanese translations are currently incomplete for the Marauder DLC. 
  • There are currently possible mistranslations in Italian Coffin Makers text and Polish Sway Minister text.
  • Descriptions of Delivery Mission are flipped in non-English languages. (e.g. Normal displays as Heroic, Heroic displays as normal)

UI

  • The new Keeper retinue selection is not currently enabled with gamepad support.
  • The Time Out clock should be visually synced to server time but is currently appearing too late.
  • Warriors and Tokens overlap in certain placements.
  • Riverfolk Warriors are not removed from Coffin makers when Recruit is undone. 
  • Mob Token does not play Death Animation when it is killed. 
  • During the Marauder Tutorial, the Retinue modal starts at the top, then moves down so the text does not overlap. 
  • iOS users on older devices might see graphical artifacts accessing the sub-menu on the game create screen.
  • Steam notifications are not displaying Root icon. 

Gameplay

  • During gameplay, the Keepers in Iron AI will sometimes leave 4 or more Warriors in a single clearing, leaving them vulnerable to Live off the Land at the end of the turn.
    • If you run into this issue, please send us feedback through the in-game Settings menu! 
  • Players cannot currently choose which Waystations are removed during Keepers matches or which Waystations are damaged in Battle..
  • In the Egg Collector challenge, when you move into a clearing with an egg and create a Warrior, selecting Undo brings the egg back but does not uncreate the Warrior. 
  • Players cannot choose which resource to use when crafting Wild icons.
  • Undoing a revolt when at supply limit removes Warriors previously on the playmat.
  • If a player uses Scorched Earth on a clearing, the Electric Eyrie can still place Warriors in the clearing with Swoop.
  • Players can remove mountain passes adjacent to Scorched Earth clearing while playing Scoundrel. 
  • The Eyrie Dynasty AI appears unable to determine that they will enter Turmoil by the end of the turn even without opponent action.
  • Players are unable to play with random factions enabled online while playing Adset with the faction draft turned on.
