The Marauder Expansion for Root Digital is Now Available on Steam!

The expansion brings two new factions, ready to wreak havoc in the Woodland with unique strategic abilities and play styles!

Oppress the Woodland as the Lord of Hundreds

These mischievous mice consolidate power by crushing their opposition with their torch-wielding mobs!

• Oppress the Woodland: The Lord of Hundreds earns points based on how many clearings they oppress — clearings they rule that have no enemy pieces at all. They can also incite angry mobs, sending them to Raze clearings and plunder their bounty. There can be no room for dissent!
  
  
• Loot Your Enemies and Build Your Hoard: By adding items to their towering Hoard, the Hundreds grow in Command and Prowess, which allow them to take more actions and recruit more warriors. Not content with crafting alone, they can choose to loot their enemies in battle instead of dealing damage.

• Anoint a Warlord (With Powerful Mood Swings): The Hundreds are led by a warlord, whose ever-shifting mood grants temporary advantages. The warlord is a fickle creature, driven by an obsessive need to hoard wealth — the items they lack will drive their motivation!

Recover Precious Relics as the Keepers in Iron

The Keepers in Iron are an order of exiled knights who have returned to the Woodland devoted to a singular cause: recovering valuable relics lost in bygone conflicts. 

• Delve Into the Forests: Devoted to their mission, the Keepers don’t have permanent residence in the Woodland, instead setting up temporary encampments with waystations to store their treasures as they explore nearby forests for relics, which are their primary method of earning points.

• Act With Your Retinue: A Retinue of cards determines which (and how many) actions the Keepers can take each round, representing Woodland locals who are eager to help the brave badger knights in their mission. But beware – delve too deep into areas where the Keepers aren’t popular, and the helpful critters in your Retinue might just start disappearing…

• Devout Knights: The Keepers didn’t return to the Woodland to cause mayhem, but they are fiercely devoted to their cause, proving to be formidable enemies to those who stand in their way. In any battle with both a relic and one of their warriors in the clearing, the Keepers ignore the first hit they take, whether attacking or defending.

New Challenges and Achievements

As always, this new expansion provides even more mileage for players who want to get the most out of Root Digital, adding six new Challenges (with both Normal and Heroic variants) and eight new achievements! Whether you’re devising innovative strategies to satisfy the unique win conditions of Challenges or going the extra mile to clear every last Achievement, The Marauder Expansion will keep you coming back for more.
