Eternal Design-a-Card Sunsetting

When we first introduced the Eternal Community Store back in 2019, we set out to create some fun and unique ways to reward content creators for streaming Eternal on Twitch. At the top of the mountain of Influence was the ability to work with the Eternal team to Design a Card.

We wanted the experience to be something cool to reach for…and the community certainly responded! To date, we’ve released eight community-led card designs that have made their mark on the game:

We’ve learned a lot along the way, but the biggest lesson has been that while the collaborative design process has yielded some fun and iconic cards, it doesn’t mesh especially well with the overall design process of creating sets at large. So, with that in mind:

Effective March 1st, the Design a Card product will be removed from the Community Store.

We’re continuing to work with players who have previously purchased Design a Card, and will be pulling forward the development and release cycle for previously purchased cards. While our focus here is on correcting course and delivering some overdue card designs, we wanted to give a last chance to purchase for anyone who’s been saving up their Influence.

To help get these cards out to players sooner, we’ll be focusing on playtesting and finalizing Design-a-Cards for release as a bundle, and each player who has one of their cards included will receive the entire bundle for free.

We’ll have more to say about that as things take shape, along with some upcoming revisions to the Community Store that players can continue to work towards while streaming or watching on Twitch.

In the meantime, thanks to everyone who has participated in Design a Card, and the player community at large for helping them accumulate Influence. We’re looking forward to getting a whole bundle of your new community-designed cards out to players soon!
