Behemoths of Thera: Deliveries

Behemoths of Thera: Deliveries

Special Delivery! The market returns to Expedition!

There haven’t been new market cards since Empire of Glass, four sets ago, leaving the Expedition format marketless ever since Cold Hunt was released. The market is one of the most unique elements of Eternal, and has featured prominently in the Throne format ever since its introduction. But because of how different games can play out with and without markets, we feel it is not something that needs to be omnipresent in Expedition. Players can expect to see Expeditions with and without markets in the future.

For those players unfamiliar, or who just need a refresher, your market is a side deck of up to five cards. Each card must be unique, and also cannot be in your deck (aside from sigils). The market is normally inaccessible, but by using cards such as Jennev Merchant or Time Etchings, you can draw cards from your market, typically by exchanging a card from your hand. Players use Markets for all sorts of things, such as cards that they might only want to draw in specific matchups like Containment Sphere, flexible cards that can be used in many situations like Display of Survival or even a finisher for when they’re out of gas like Inferno Phoenix. The number of uses for markets are endless!

Deliveries are rather unique as market cards go. While they are cheap and don’t require an exchange like most previous market cards do, they also ask you to use whatever you fetched from the market immediately. If you don’t, you’ll eventually draw it later. Assuming the opponent doesn’t Hunt it away, of course. How and when you use your Deliveries can drastically change the outcome of a match.

We’re excited to deliver the market to Expedition once more once Behemoths of Thera releases on January 18! Get your pre-order in now!
